New World in Danish Farm-In Discussions

New World Oil & Gas reported Friday that discussions are ongoing with potential farm-in partners for its Danica Jutland project on license 1/09, onshore Denmark.

The firm said that interpretation of its 3D seismic acquisition program on the project's Jensen prospect is now complete. Independent consultant RPS Energy has assigned the Jensen prospect prospective resources of 48 million barrels of oil, and an updated competent person’s report will be released by the mid-2013.

On New World's Danica Resources project, a 2D seismic acquisition program has now been completed. This revealed high grading data on large Zechstein Zn-2, Zn-3 and Zn-4 leads that total 13,485 acres. Interpretation of the data is now underway with a view to deciding which leads are to undergo a 3D seismic acquisition program.

New World says that P50 volume estimates for the Als Prospect within the Danica Resources project remain at 97 million barrels of oil and 1.4 trillion cubic feet of gas.

New World has a 25-percent working interest in both projects, with an option to earn up to 80 percent in each of them.

New World CEO William Kelleher commented in a statement:

"Whilst drilling is underway in Belize, progress continues to be made across the Atlantic at our Danish assets. We have completed the initial interpretation of the 3D seismic data on our Jensen prospect on block 1/09, and RPS Energy are now compiling the data into an updated CPR which will be available before the end of the second quarter 2013.

"Meanwhile, our recent 2D program on block 1/08 has just been completed. We are eager to receive the results of this program as the data will reveal which of several large structures already identified we will further de-risk with a 3-D program."

New World Raises Funds for Denmark, Belize Drilling

New World Oil and Gas has raised the money it needs to drill two wells during the next 12 months on its Danica Jutland project in Denmark if it decides not to proceed with west testing on its Rio Bravo No.1 well in Belize, the firm reported Thursday.

New World said that it has successfully placed 315 million shares in order to raise $9.5 million, the net proceeds of which it intends to use to test and appraise the Rio Bravo No.1 well subject to a successful well-logging program. To date all operations to do with the well are on schedule and under budget, the firm added, with a total depth of 8,800 feet – targeting the Upper Jurassic Margaret Creek Formation – expected to be reached by late April.

However, New World also said that if the Rio Bravo No.1 well is not tested and appraised the funds will be used for the drilling of two wells targeting the Harboe and Jelling prospects at the company's Danica Jutland project in Denmark, as well as for the seismic interpretation and competent person's report costs of the project.

The Harboe prospect has been assigned P50 un-risked prospective resources of 351.2 billion cubic feet of gas. The Jelling prospect has been assigned P50 un-risked prospective resources of 166.4 billion cubic feet.

New World added that drilling is also continuing at its West Gallon Jug prospect in Belize. This is targeting a P50 un-risked prospective resource of 113 million barrels of oil.

New World Chief Executive William Keller commented in a statement:

"Thanks to the support and interest of both existing and new shareholders, we are now in a position where we can test and appraise the Rio Bravo No. 1 well which the company is currently drilling in Belize (assuming a successful well logging programme) or, in the event the well is not tested, we are funded to drill two wells in the forthcoming 12 months on our highly exciting Danica Jutland project, targeting the Harboe and Jelling prospects, each of which could be transformative for the company.

"In all, three wells are expected to be drilled over the next 12 months targeting combined gross P50 volumetrics of 200 million barrels of oil equivalent with a success case valuation for all three of $3.62 billion net to the company's interest. These figures represent just three out of over 40 prospects/leads identified across our portfolio to date. We are delivering on our objective of exposing our shareholders to meaningful potential upside through the systematic identification and de-risking of multiple prospects to the point of drilling. We believe that it is just a matter of time before we make a commercial hydrocarbon discovery and, in the process, create significant value for all our shareholders."

New World Gets Govt Nod for Working Interest in Danish Licenses

New World Oil and Gas announced Monday that the Danish Energy Authority has formally approved the assignment to the company of a 25-percent working interest in Licence 1/08 of the Danica Resources Project in Denmark.

Licence 1/08 is located in the productive Western Baltic region of the South Permian Basin in Southern Denmark, totaling 2,479 square miles, according to New World.

The assignment of 25-percent working interest to New World is in accordance with the previous Farm-Out Agreement announced April 17, 2012 and follows the completion of Phase 1 of a 2D seismic acquisition program consisting of 64.26 square miles, and an additional 14.9 square miles 2D seismic acquisition program on two re-confirmed leads.

After this seismic acquisition program, New World estimates that the drill-ready Als prospect has an estimated P50 un-risked prospective recoverable resources of 1.4 trillion cubic feet and 97 million barrels of oil.

Additionally, the firm said four previously-identified Zechstein leads were confirmed on Falster and Lolland Islands from the new seismic data on which a 23.9-mile 2D acquisition program has recently been completed. Results from this 2-D program targeting these large leads which total 13,485 acres will be released in 2Q 2013.

New World CEO William Kelleher commented in a statement:

"We are delighted to have now earned into a 25 percent working interest in both of our Danish projects. In tandem with increasing our interests in these three exciting licenses, we are delivering on our strategy to systematically identify, delineate and de-risk multiple prospects to the point of drilling... With results expected in Q2 2013 there remains tremendous scope to materially add to the P50 prospective resources on the license, particularly bearing in mind the size of Als' volumetrics. I look forward to updating the market on our progress."

New World Sees Danica Jutland Stake Doubled to 25%

New World Oil and Gas announced Friday that the Danish Energy Authority has approved the assignment to its Danish subsidiary an additional 12.5-percent working interest in licenses 1/09 and 2/09. Consequently, the company's working interest in the Danica Jutland project has increased to 25 percent.

The Danica Jutland licenses are located in what New World describes as the "highly prospective" Jutland onshore area of southwest Denmark, covering a total area of approximately 1,575 square miles. The additional 12.5-percent working interest is a second tranche promised to New World under a farm-out agreement announced Oct. 11 2011, following the acquisition of 2D seismic data.

New World CEO William Kelleher commented in a company statement:

"At our Danica Jutland project, we have combined P50 indicative volumetrics and success case economic outcomes totalling 134 million barrels of oil equivalent and a NPV10 [net present value] of $1.22 billion net to New World. These numbers include only the three of 10 identified prospects or leads that have been formally reported on. As with our other Danish project, Danica Resources, there is considerable potential to significantly increase the combined volumetrics further.

"In Denmark as a whole, we have identified 39 prospects/ leads, a number of which have the potential to be company makers in their own right. With this in mind, we are looking forward to advancing operations in Denmark later this year, as we aim to deliver on our goal of building a leading oil and gas exploration and production company."

Our nutrient world: food, pollution and agriculture

A new report commissioned by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) highlights how humans have massively altered global cycling of nitrogen, phosphorus  and other nutrients.  While this had huge benefits for world food and energy production, it has also created a web of water and air pollution that is damaging human health, causing toxic algal blooms, killing fish, threatening sensitive ecosystems and contributing to climate change.   

The report – entitled ‘Our Nutrient World’ – highlights the problems of nitrogen and phosphorus pollution and proposes a goal for future intergovernmental agreement to improve nutrient efficiency by 20%, saving 20 million tonnes of nitrogen per year by the year 2020: ‘20:20 for 2020’.

Counting the nitrogen savings, implementation cost and the environmental and health benefits they estimate that such a goal would provide a net saving of £108 billion pounds per year. Read the report

New World Comes Up Dry at Blue Creek

New World Oil & Gas announced Friday that its Blue Creek No.2A side track well in the Petén Basin in northwest Belize has come up dry after the firm drilled to a measured depth of 11,650 feet Jan. 27.

The firm said that, after careful analysis, it was determined that insufficient commercial quantities of hydrocarbons were present to merit running casing and well-testing operations. As a result, New World has decided to plug and abandon the well.

New World pointed out that data has shown that a live hydrocarbon system does exist in the area and that live oil shows were seen in formations during the drill. Technical data garnered from both the No. 2A side track and the Blue Creek No. 2 wells will now be used during the drilling of the company's next well: the Rio Bravo Well No.1 in the West Gallon Jug.

The drilling of the Rio Bravo No. 1 well is expected to begin during the first quarter of this year.

"Analysis of the data gathered from the Blue Creek #2A and Blue Creek 2A ST wells points to the migration of huge quantities of oil through this area. Combined with the presence of a reservoir ideal for oil production, and a large, extensive anhydrite seal, we remain highly confident that the elements required for a working hydrocarbon system are in place in North West Belize," New World CEO Bill Kelleher commented in a statement.

"As highlighted by B Crest, trap remains the key outstanding element required for success in this area and, with multiple prospects already identified, we believe it is only a matter of time before we locate a trap of significant size and in the process make a commercial hydrocarbon discovery. With this in mind, we look forward to commencing drilling operations in the West Gallon Jug Crest prospect later this quarter for which we are fully funded and where the geologic trap mechanism remains independent of B Crest."

New World Progressing in Denmark and Belize

Denmark and Belize-focused junior New World Oil and Gas reported Tuesday that it had made progress at both its Danica Resources Project in southern Denmark and its Blue Creek operation in Belize.

New World said that it had received a positive update to the Competent Person's Report produced by RPS Energy for its Danica Resources Project in the western Baltic region of the South Permian Basin in southern Denmark. Four new leads have been identified and New World now plans to acquire additional 2D seismic data along with 3D seismic data on Falster and Lolland islands over the Zechstein Zn-2, Zn-3 and Zn-4 leads, which were targeted by several of the latest 2D lines.

The firm said that seismic data confirms the western bounding fault for the Als prospect and volumetric estimates remain as detailed a previous document issued last July. At Zechstein, there are prospective resources of between 40 and 192 million barrels of oil (on a P90 to P10 basis), while at Rotliegendes prospective resources are estimated at between 575 and 3,380 billion cubic feet of gas.

New World added that both intervals on the Als prospect can be targeted from an onshore location and that they are "drill ready". In all, a total of 28 leads and one prospect have now been identified on New World's Danish license.

"This first phase of seismic has confirmed the original highly attractive volumetric estimates and associated indicative economics for the drill ready Als prospect. At the same time, we have acquired high quality data for this highly prospective Baltic Licence," New World CEO William Kelleher said in a company statement.

"We will continue to de-risk the multiple leads and prospects identified, with an additional 38.5-kilometer seismic survey planned for early February 2013 on Falster and Lolland Islands. This next phase will specifically target the Zechstein leads identified from the first phase of seismic as well as improving the probability of success in the Triassic."

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, New World said its Blue Creek No.2A side track well, onshore Belize, had drilled to a measured depth of 11,490 feet, some 400 feet short of the planned total depth for the well. The company is taking longer than originally anticipated here due to a halting in drilling operations whenever sections of interest in the targeted Hillbank and Y3 formations have been encountered so that core samples can be taken.
